Grey or Gray? Who am I?

The answer: Both.

Why not?

I like to be an enigma.

I hail from Portland, Oregon.

I write stuff: novels, stories, sometimes poetry.

Sometimes it’s about sex, because it sells.

Sometimes it’s about lesbians, or bi-sexual girls, or strippers, or bad wives, or girls who have sex with their daddies and brothers.

“Incest is the best” they say.  It’s all relative.

Seriously, incest is a powerful subject.  It seems one out of three women these days has incest in their past one way or the other, either as victim or experiencer.  It is also a taboo but powerful fantasy, in sex play and stories.

Sometimes I just write about people.

I have been sexually active since I was 11.  I had a boyfriend who was 14 but my first time was with a 48-year-old man.  Read my work and figure it out. I have no regrets. I seduced him.

My first job was as a “exotic dancer” in Portland. I was 16 but I had a fake ID that said I was 18.  The owners of the club didn’t seem to care. It was a small dark place.  There are a zillion stripper clubs and bars in Portland. I have worked, since then, in lingerie clubs, gentlemen’s clubs, and bars.

One of my favs was Jumbo’s Clown Room in Hollywood, where I worked for three years while I did my L.A. thing for a bit.

Other jobs: paralegal, escort (lesbian only), waitress, executive assistant to a certain movie star that I cannot say because I signed a NDA.

My publishers: Blue Moon Books, Olympia Press, Ophelia Press, Xcite Books, and Pink Flamingo Books.

  1. Valerie,

    How high do you aim?
    I’m a publisher in Pa.
Many varied subjects – wild fiction, conspiracies, philosophy, pop-culture, subversion …
    You have fire.
Drop me a line and say hello – maybe we could put our heads together.
    I like your style.
